The 2008 vintage presented several challenges to California winemakers. Spring frost damaged many vineyards, which reduced yields approximately 25%. The upside to having a smaller crop was that the remaining fruit was characterized by smaller berries that delivered greater concentration and more layers of taste. So, in spite of uncooperative weather in the beginning, the Cabernet we harvested was richly textured, intensely fragrant and extremely flavorful.
