LASSEGUE SAINT EMILION GRAND CRU

Château Lassegue emerges from the home estate of Pierre Seillan, who’s also behind the incredibly quality of Vérité in Sonoma County. It’s a beautifully seductive, seamless 2018 with a wonderful core of red and blue fruits, notes of leafy herbs and tobacco, nicely integrated tannins, a great mid-palate, and a rounded, mouth-filling texture. Beautifully done, enjoy this irresistible Saint-Émilion over the coming two decades.”

This red is smooth and richly structured. Wood aging still shows and it needs aging to realize its full, ripe potential. Juicy berry flavors and spice come together in a wine that will be impressive as it ages further. Drink from 2022. Roger Voss

This wine benefits from the rich tannins of the vintage, resulting in a beautifully ripe wine, dense and concentrated. Even the high alcohol does not take away from the wine's freshness and swathes of black fruit. It needs to age, so drink from 2023. Roger Voss

The Bordeaux outpost of the Jackson family winery has produced a rich wine in this vintage. It is structured with swathes of ripe black fruits. The tannins promise some serious aging for this complex ripe wine with its solid texture. Drink from 2023.

86–88. Barrel Sample. A ripe, full-bodied wine, this is showing dark layers of wood, spice and intense acidity. Dark chocolate flavors give a bitter aftertaste.
