GRAPE VARIETY: 100 % Chardonnay
SOIL: Kimmeridgian clay and limestone.
VINIFICATION: Fermented in 1-2 year-old oak barrels
AGING: 15-18 months in barrel on fine lees.
SITUATION: Les Clos is situated on top of a south/southwesterly facing hill. The depth of the soil produces a wine of consistent quality that always takes a while to develop.
“A dense and layered white with pineapple, cooked apples and light pears. Stone undertones. Full and dense with incredible depth and beauty. Love the fact that there's no new-wood character. Straw undertones. Great depth of fruit. Drink or hold. But one for the cellar.” 97 points, James Suckling (APRIL 2017)
